You Can Hear His Voice, You Just Don’t

Here is what the Lord said to me about ministry. Unfortunately, I did not hear this when I began in ministry, it was only about 10 years ago that this came to me. The Lord told me the greatest key I could hand to His people was to teach them to hear God for themselves. In other words, if you’re in ministry and you have not taught those around you to hear His voice, you are failing as a minister. Why? Because I do not care how great your revelation is, Jesus did not die so you could be heard. He died to reconnect the children back to the Father. When they are, then He is heard by them.

It is a tragedy when we think our voice is the most important in the room. It is not! That being said, there is a maturation process for the saints that ministry should be assisting with.

Jesus says my sheep know my voice, and none other will they follow.

The interesting thing is how many people outside of our community have no idea what that voice sounds like. I had a leader at a local church come to me and say, “what do you mean you teach people to hear His voice?” It actually took me a second to answer.

What Jesus said was true, you can hear His voice, you just don’t! Why? Because you have removed the need and the importance of the Holy Spirit. Remember it is He that will lead you and guide you into all truth. No Holy Spirit in your life, no guiding, and only partial truths based on your interpretation of the bible. Just so we’re on the same page, the Holy Spirit was not given just to interpret your bible!

So now what? It is really simple. You want to hear Him? All you need to do is start worshipping and ask the Holy Spirit to come into your life. Ask Him to show you the evidence of this with a prayer language (speaking in tongues). For all of you that do not believe this, is there a possibility you may not know everything? If so, why does it hurt to step outside of what someone told you and ask Him for yourself? See what happens!

After this encounter with the Holy Spirit, your whole life will change. It becomes about that same worship and prayer that brings you into this place where you received the Holy Spirit. Only now, when you get into your prayer closet and shut the door, just say, “Jesus will you come to me.” He will respond! But remember, he is not in the fire, the quaking, or the wind, it is the still small voice that you will know when you hear it.

Do this and you will find your Father, and what He is asking of your life.

Do this every day, and nothing will ever be the same again!
